The Saga of the Stranded Cat

This is what I have been dealing with for the last few weeks... a super loud and super ridiculous cat who insists she is stuck on the roof even though I know better. I mean she got her ass up there, I'm certain she can get down... but sadly I cave in every time and fetch her from the top of the storage closet. At least it shuts her up, well here is Jezzebel's story. It happens several times a day and the same way every time...

Stuck on the roof: "hello, humans I am stuck!"

On the fence: "are you gonna help me, or do I have to do this all by myself?"

On the storage closet: "ok, I am here..."

"MEOW!!!!!!! What do you not speak cat, human pleaz!"

"Seriously."

The Last Summer Concert

We were at the Cliffs in Shell Beach on Monday enjoying the beautiful weather and great sounds of Still Time. The concert, the last of the season(sad face), was great and the beer lines were horrid. Three bartenders for like a million people, that just doesn't compute! Well, we still had a blast and even managed to get a few beers and Devon drank them all!!! No just kidding, actually it's that you can't really take photos and hold your beverage of choice at the same time.

The Tyler Show

Although we are very excited for the September Issue to be out we are also sad that it is the first issue that the CCM team has produced without our beloved Art Director and Senior Designer, T'n'A Ichien, otherwise known as "Just Tyler" (jazz hands!!! please he insists). So in honor of Tyler we present to you the The Tyler Show:

Tyler's first appearance on the pages of CCM. Where he is casually assisting the cover model, he was always really good at that. Plus I'm pretty sure he's opened his fair share of car doors in his lifetime!

This was actually a legs only shoot, but in between "leg flirting" photos we were able to get this little candid gem! P.S. we miss Sara too.

An office favorite!!! And not only did Tyler's chest grace the pages of CCM in the April '07 issue but it is also still hanging on the boss' Wall of Fame! Good going T-man! Oh and a little behind the scenes tid-bit - poor Tyler had to photoshop his own hairy arms for the final photo, what... a hairy asian!

We scouted so many Central Coast campsites before we finally decided that the Lopez Lake campgrounds were the prettiest and most convenient, plus it doesn't hurt to have test model who is sooooooooo money!!!!!!!!

At The Cover Shoot

This month we went out to the Santa Ynez Valley to shoot our feature article and cover subject: Sandy Hill!

The area couldn't have been more beautiful and we were equally impressed by Sandy's cowgirl-chic style. Here are some of the great photos that because of space didn't make it in the magazine. And for the whole story as well as more photos look for our September issue to be hitting stands by early next week, if not sooner.

A CCM Flashback

I believe this was 1988 and we had just wrapped the "Graffiti and Break-Dancing" issue and the three of us were planning our evening out to first see the feature film Big, starring a Mr. Tom Hanks and then get some dinner at The Fondue Spot. It was set to be a totally tubular evening. But I think Stacey(that's so 80's) ended up canceling because she decided to skip out to play Atari with her boyfriend. I guess he had just gotten the new Donkey Kong, I don't really remember it was so long ago. But both Jamie and I were like, "Lame!", and also like, "totally gag me with a spoon!!!"

Good times, good memories. Man, I love those 80's!

This is the attack cat, who you'll find living at The Kenneth Volk Winery. He even has a special house on the roof that keeps him safe from becoming coyote cuisine! I'm only sorry I didn't get a picture of that for you, but now it's just one more reason for you to visit the tasting room.

We love Kenneth Volk Wines!!! In fact we love Kenneth Volk wines soooooo much that we decided to include him in this year's wine club editorial. You'll be able to get a copy at the beginning of September, and you can read all about how he and fellow winemaker Ken Brown have greatly influenced this area's wine community. It's a great article, we can't wait for everyone to read it, but until then you should drink some of this great wine. I should also mention that I am not a huge Chardonnay fan, but this great white will leave a lasting impression on you! Not to mention all the other great varietals that are available.

CCM Home Cookin'

You might remember that in our May Issue we highlighted some of our favorite local products in the article "Living Locavore: Eat Local for Every Meal". Well what we did not mention was that after the completion of the photography all the local products were dispersed throughout the office to our co-workers.

One of the products I was lucky enough to go home with was a bottle of Terrace Hill Olive Co.'s "A Touch of Citrus" olive oil & the Terrace Hill "Smokey Mesquite Meat Rub". This weekend I decided to really put them to good use; I used the rub on a tri-tip for tri-tip sandwiches and I used the oil on my salad and on BBQ'd sweet potatoes with apple.

The result... was total deliciousness!!!!

Party in the Plaza!

Well if you were lucky you might have run into us at the Resination concert this last Friday at the Concerts in the Plaza, but more than likely you didn't & were just as lost in the sea of people as we were! The place was packed and the music was positively electrifying, this band is just not capable of putting on a bad show! The only bummer, the beer line; it was long and worry some, but it actually moved pretty quickly. We made it back and maneuvered our way thru the crowd to a pretty good spot and enjoyed the whole show all the way thru the 2 encores.

We've noticed this season that free concerts have poped up everywhere and we want to encourage you to find the free concert nearest you and go! Don't forget to have a blast.
